Members of Virgin Active’s flagship Central London Classic Club will soon be introduced to the Wattbike. A training suite of eight bikes will host group classes performed around performance parameters such as heart rate, power and cadence. The data drawn from the bike on-board computer is displayed on a large screen to review performance.
The WattBike will play a key role in training for the Virgin Active London Triathlon which takes place on September 22nd at London’s ExCel centre.
What is a Wattbike?
The Wattbike is an indoor cycle trainer (exercise bike) designed for both elite cyclists and general fitness. Its key premise is that is accurately measures power output in wattage and well as 38 other performance parameters and features a unique real-time pedal technique analysis to help to identify and correct deficiencies in pedal stroke. The bike is fully customisable and designed to recreate the feel of riding a real bike. It is also the first and only indoor cycle trainer to be endorsed by British Cycling.
