Sprint To Victory On BBC’s Dragons’ Den
The Running Mat, created by award-winning personal trainer Donna Kerr-Foley, is a portable exercise mat designed to ease the impact on joints while exercising outdoors, as well as to keep hands and clothes clean.
Created by experienced personal trainer Donna Kerr-Foley, the Running Mat won over both dragons Deborah Meaden and Kelly Hoppen MBE and retail giant Sports Direct as it is now stocking the product.
The dragons struck a deal with Kerr-Foley giving her £50,000 for a 40% share in the business.
Commenting on her first investment in this series, Deborah Meaden said:
Kelly Hoppen MBE added:
Double Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes is supporting Kelly Hoppen’s decision to invest in a fitness product:
Kerr-Foley, 36, runs a string of women’s boot camps across the North East. She noticed her clients’ workouts being hampered by tough, muddy conditions that impacted their hands and joints – as well as clothing – and created The Running Mat.
The Running Mat is a cushioned, waterproof, foldaway exercise mat with a reflective coating that retains heat in the winter and keeps cool in the summer.
A lightweight, yet durable design, it is worn around the waist or hips when not in use, making it ideal for runners, boot camp participants and even for hikers, who often need to sit and rest in the cold and mud.
Kerr-Foley hopes that as well as enticing more people to take up outdoor exercise, The Running Mat will encourage existing runners to expand their training by adding strength training and yoga into their routines.
