New additions to natural quinoa bar range
Perkier has been slowly establishing itself in the market over the past 5 years with its range of all natural quinoa bars and their latest additions are about as on trend as it gets. Coconut, chia seeds and quinoa have all created their own buzz and all are present in one of Perkier’s two new bars, with the other featuring cashews, chia and pumpkin seeds. Careful formulation has also lead perkier to bind and sweeten their bars without sugars but instead low GI ingredients date, brown rice and cassava syrup, as well as chicory root. These key ingredients offer a wealth of health benefits including a source of plant based omega-3, complete protein and support digestive health.
Bars like Perkier are representative of a shift in the world of health where the concept of medicine and supplements in the form of food have been well and truly abandoned. Drinks formulated from artificial blends which used “100% of your RDA” as their USP have an extremely limited appeal made worse by the way they are presented, away from normal food channels and closer to supplementation.
Natural and organic whole food bars offer so much in the way of health benefits from their micronutrient content that there wouldn’t be room to list them all on the packaging, so instead there is a greater expectation for consumers to educate themselves as to these benefits.
Perkier tick many of the freefrom and vegan boxes and whilst the inclusion of soy will put off some consumers they taste great and retail for the surprisingly low price of 75-99p.
