Supercharging our most messed up meals
Always a great place to spot the next big health food trend, Natural & Organic Product Europe has gone from “coconuts” to “super” with this year’s show as the latest wave of products appear to share a focus on making superfood ingredients more readily available in the food products most of us eat on a day to day basis.
Naturya, a UK leader in superfoods, has had 10 years experience in bringing nutrient rich foods to the market, with their ingredients used by their customers in a variety of homemade superfood recipes from shakes to brownies. As experts in the field, Naturya has decided to throw their hat into the ring and produce their own range of familiar food products that aim to make it more simple to get a superfood boost.
The two key products that the company was showcasing included a new range of “super jams” as well as a new range of bars. Using familiar lead ingredients of strawberry, raspberry, blueberry and apricot, the jams (or technically “conserves” given their lower sugar content) offer a very authentic tasting breakfast proposition with an added boost from baobab, macca, acai and goji. There was also a new range of bars, formulated to replicate the feel of a home bake, were packed full of highly nutritious seeds, berries and plant based protein.
With snacks and breakfast at the forefront of battle for improving the nation’s nutrition, with more new products like this entering the market, we are certain to see this space hot up in the not too distant future.
