Retailer goes cluckin mad
Musclefood.com has been something of a runaway success as the lure of freshly delivered meat, fitness focused food and supplements quickly turned this small family and friends run outfit into a business with a multi-million pound turnover.
At BodyPower Expo 2016, Musclefood hosted what was arguably one of the most chaotic stands at the show offering burgers, protein pizza, protein pick’n’mix, goodie bags sporting free underpants and a chicken riding a bucking bronco. It was here that we probed Director Darren Beale on the company’s success and its enormous product offering.
Darren attributes the popularity of Musclefood to a combination of both price point and product variety. By avoiding the costly overheads of owning and running high street supermarket outlets, as well as buying and selling in bulk, Musclefood is able to keep its prices permanently low. With prices at almost half of what supermarkets can offer it’s no wonder why for many in fitness and bodybuilding that Musclefood is their go-to shop.
But it’s not all about cheap meat. Musclefood offers a gargantuan range that includes meat of all varieties, vegetables, dairy, snacks, meals and supplements. In addition, Musclefood also provides higher quality products including their own Informed Sport approved supplements and Soil Association accredited organic meat. HealthGauge editor Andrew Wildey demonstrates this range in this unboxing video that features garlic crickets, organic pork and beef, salmon, kale chips and protein ice cream.
All Musclefood products can be purchased direct from their online store.
