Irish brand builds on trust
Launched in 2009 Kinetica has shot to the premium end of the sports nutrition market. The Irish brand is owned by the Carbery Group, a major international food ingredients, flavours and cheese manufacturer based in Cork, Ireland. Producing cheese from grass fed cows gave an abundance of whey (originally a bi-product of the cheese making process), and an opportunity to diversify into sports nutrition.
Barry Kelly, National Sales Manager at Kinetica explained that they saw a gap in the marketing for a sports nutrition brand that was natural and more appealing to athletes from a more broad range of disciplines such a footballers, triathletes and even MMA fighters.
The focus on athletes is reflected in the products which are all tested for banned substances as well as including only natural colours and flavours. This combined proposition helps to established a brand that athletes can trust right off the shelf.
Amongst the companies well established range, at BodyPower Expo they were keen to showcase their most recent launch of Thermo Whey. Also on the stand James Conci-Mitchell, the Founder of exclusive central London gym Six3Nine, hosted a challenge to see how much force visitors could excerpt in a weight lift. The aim of the challenge was to highlight the benefits of explosive movements in achieving a ‘beach body’ result, as well as improved functionality (speed/force) compared to classic bodybuilding.
New exclusive World Cup listing
Kinetica is also kicking off the FIFA World Cup season with two new limited edition Whey Protein flavours inspired by the tournament hosts and exclusive to GNC. Available across all 57 stores across the UK, the Latin flavours include the vibrant tropical pineapple and coconut flavours of Piña Colada, and the papaya and citrus burst of Samba Mamão.
The new listing, which goes live this week, enhances the brand partnership with GNC which was originally formed in February 2014 as part of an exclusive deal to stock 10 of Kinetica’s product lines across all of its stores.
