Tracking system for every workout
Showcasing the most exciting innovations from the fitness world, the 2014 FIBO Innovation Awards saw 33 entrants compete across four categories of training equipment, training concepts, health promotion and design. One nominee that caught our eye was Gymwatch – a motion sensing system allowing users to accurately monitor their performance in any exercise. The nomination came a great endorsement for the crowd funded independent fitness tech start-up.
The Gymwatch sensor is worn on the arm or leg and tracks range of motion and strength. This information is transmitted live via bluetooth to an app enabling for it to provide feedback on performance including how well an exercise was performed. One of the key benefits of Gymwatch is that it can be applied in a huge number of exercises from running on a treadmill, to lifting weight or freestyle bodyweight or functional training.
