Virtual fitness challenge
Sports nutrition company Grenade have launched an new augmented reality app.
For those unfamiliar with the concept, augmented reality is means by which a real world object or environment is overlaid with video or virtual content, when viewed through a camera connected devices such as smart phone, smart television or games console.
The Grenade Augmented Reality Challenge App displays 3D models of athletes from ‘Team Grenade’ who demonstrate then challenge the user to complete as many reps as they can in 30 seconds. New challenges are releases monthly and include exercises such as push ups, pull ups, burpees and bench presses.
Users also have the option to record their performance and submit the video to rank on a global leader board and enter a monthly prize draw.
The app is free to download from all the usual app stores.
