Study confirms Neuravena efficacy
A clinical study has confirmed previously demonstrated benefits of Frutarom’s green oat (Avena sativa) extract Neuravena, on acute improvement of cognitive function, showing efficacy for an 800 mg dose.
The maintenance of cognitive function even in stressful situations has become essential in our society, based on performance and changing social trends. The need to think better or stay more concentrated and focused; be it at work, during an exam or at home, it is becoming increasingly important. However, it is not always easy to manage the multiple challenges of daily living. A growing number of people perceive a cumulative level of stress that, in the long run, can lead to mental and physical health issues.
The new, placebo-controlled, double-blind, randomized cross-over study investigated the effects of 800mg Neuravena on the cognitive performance, using the Computerized Mental Performance Assessment System (COMPASS)—a battery of tests selected to allow assessments across the major cognitive domains, including global functioning (speed, accuracy), attention, working and episodic memory and executive function.
The study shows that a single 800mg dose of Neuravena provides significant benefits related to cognitive function. The results of the study indicate a significant improvement of the ‘Speed of Performance’ measure across all the timed tasks within the cognitive tests battery, indicating general benefit to brain function. These results also indicate an improved executive function, via faster performance in the Peg & Ball test; improved working memory performance (via second run of Corsi Blocks task); and improved episodic memory through fewer incorrect words generated on the “Delayed Word Recall” task.
