Jimini’s to help us cook, snack and share bugs
Joining the global movement towards making insects a part of modern diets in the interests of health and environmental sustainability is Jimini’s, a French brand founded by longtime friends in 2012 who began by exploring the idea of insects as appetisers.
Focusing exclusively on crickets, grasshoppers and mealworms Jimini’s insects are exclusively farmed in Europe, in specialized farms where they’re only fed with GMO free vegetal food, dehydrated with a freezing process that preserves the nutrients.
Jimini’s have produced 9 distinct snacks that are seasoned with natural spices and four bars made with organic dried fruits, almonds and chocolate. They provide a source of protein, fibre and are full of energy. Also available are whole freeze-dried insects for use in cooking.
