World’s largest fitness trade fair returns
It had been a move of humongous proportions when the new and improved FIBO kicked off in Cologne last year. An exhibitor increase of 10%, a floor space expansion of 20% and a visitor boost of over 30% delivered a premiere event far beyond what anyone had projected or planned for. Instead of the expected 80,000, more than 100,000 visitors attended the Leading International Trade Fair for Fitness, Wellness and Health. That’s why the motto for the next FIBO, taking place in the cathedral city from 3 to 6 April 2014, will be: “After moving venues in the first year, let’s actually move in in the second.”
Hall 7 will be all about health
FIBO’s reinforced orientation toward health topics continues at the trade fair, as illustrated wonderfully by Hall 7, which will be dominated by health topics and, along with FIBOmed, positioned right at the intersection of fitness and health. Here visitors will see narrowly targeted, certified products for the healthcare market. The range of offerings is supplemented by the special exhibition areas “Active Office” and “Measuring Devices and Diagnostics” and a special show on 200 m² called “The physical therapy office of the future.”
Trend topic functional training
Interest in functional training and group fitness continues unabated at gyms. Reason enough for FIBO to further expand the area. Numerous exhibitors will showcase their new products for this free-moving, three-dimensional type of training in Hall 9a, including major industry players such as Transatlantic Fitness, LES MILLS and Escape Fitness Limited.
The “FIBO Functional Forum“ featuring IFAA and Perform Better, also located in Halle 9a, is a new addition presenting the functional training trend through expert lectures and theoretical and practical training sessions.
FIBO INNOVATION AWARD in five categories
Once again, one thing will be a particular focus across all FIBO areas: The latest, most innovative product developments contributed by the roughly 700 exhibitors from around the world. Three of them will once again be in the limelight on the FIBO Friday – the winners of the FIBO INNOVATION AWARD. Awards will be presented four categories: “Training Equipment for Fitness, Rehabilitation and Prevention,” “Health Promotion,” “Interior & Design” and “Training Concepts”.
