Following scandinavian design, “I’m” represents the human body with a sculpture connected to your body. Just like a mirror, the sculptural avatar would get fat, or fit, depending on your diet and excercise routines. With a removable tray placed over the base platform, “I’m” will scan every ingredient on your meals, and let you know what the effects on your body would be over a desired amount of time. (days, weeks, years). The base platform includes a screen where you can find information and nutrition facts of every meal. If your meal is dangerous for your health, it would show a warning.
If you haven’t been eating properly, your avatar can get sick, when this happens some details on the sculpture will turn red. The avatar will also give you information on how to take care, and avoid the sickness in real life. Supported, and managed by an app, you can share improvements through social media.
Bake.A.Dish. by Saeed Rahiminejad
Bake.A.Dish is an oven designed to create bread and biscuit dinnerware. By customizing the size of the food dishes according to one’s special needs and adding a controlled amount of fiber and carbohydrates to the diet it promises a healthier eating lifestyle. You also get to eat hot and fresh bakeries whenever you want. Using a mobile application as the interface and a shape-shifting double mold, you can customize the size and shape of your dishes and either have a puffy bread-like plate or a thin biscuit-like dish.
The possibilities for creating new forms is open ground for creativity! The application estimates the amount of calories for the designed plate so people can have control over the amount of calories they’re adding to their everyday diet.
Considering that the energy needed for making these breads comes from in-home solar panels and the water used for baking is less than what is used to wash dishes and no disposable dishes, makes Bake.A.Dish a good sustainable solution.
Wheel by Si Hyeong Ryu
We are living in a paradox that we cannot keep ourselves clean without damaging our surroundings. Wheel is a crossover between gym bike and washing machine to break out of this vicious circle by using human kinetic power to save electricity and our nature. The power generated from the spinning can be used to wash clothes and the unused power can be saved to be used as electricity in the future.
The washing balls inside shortens the washing time and saves the amount of water used in the process. The saved energy can be used when there is no one around or the only person who can run the machine is a kid or an elder. The treadmill mechanism helps the user for better work out experience for healthier life. The normal plug in and flexible display system inside the wheel provides let’s the user to experience better riding experience.
Growing Your Own Protein by Couvert-Castera Anne
In a near future we will lack of proteins as the sources of proteins that we consume now are in majority not sustainable. This idea proposea to the consumer a new category of ingredient, an alternative source of proteins and natural nutriments in the form of the micro algae, called “spirulina”. This superfood is 56% of proteins, but it also contents vitamins and nutriments. It is easy to grow at home using this small aqua farm embedded in a kitchen worktop.
The project is like a small spirulina processing station composed by an harvesting tank, some hand tools, a food-direr and a 3d printer. The user becomes an urban aquafarmer, growing and processing his algae, able to create a new category of sustainable proteins in a dish, by experimenting new associations of taste and textures thanks to 3d food printing. This project offers a sustainable (and 100% vegan) and new approach of proteins, and an experimental “cuisine” for culinary enjoyment.
Act Health Carpet by Pekka Puhakka
ACT-health carpet is combined air purifier and health mat. It can be placed in the floor like carpet or on the wall like a rug. The main task for the mat is to purify the air but when wanted it transforms to be personal trainer that encourages users to stay in fit by monitoring their body functions and giving training advice.
All the interaction with carpet is showed on optical fiber coating. The screen that is consisting of dense fiber fur allows the mat to be effective and customizable digital decoration element.
Carpet has its base material (ACT= Antibacterial Cell Tissue) which is the substrate for biotechnical optical fiber coating that grows from it. This new era material purifies the air and allows mat actually to grow and reduce its size and fiber length to meet the various needs if wanted. Because of the digital fur anything interactive and visual material can be used as coating to personalize living conditions. The need of new carpet is over.
